Exclusive: Calling lawyers – your chance to fly to Mars with Elon Musk and SpaceX

Legal IT Insider has just discovered the SpaceX commercial space flight business, headed by American serial tech entrepreneur Elon Musk, is recruiting for a lawyer to be part of the first crew to fly to Mars, as part of the company’s ambitious plans to establish a permanent colony on the Red Planet.
The role of Chief Exolawyer (CXL) will encompass a range of civil, commercial and criminal law responsibilities – as well as the potential to negotiate with extraterrestrials in any “first contact” scenarios. Salary will be “out of this world” (to quote the SpaceX press release) however applicants are advised they will be required to make a long-term commitment, not least as return trips are not envisaged for at least 10 years.
Sounds a tall order? Far from it, in fact SpaceX are so confident they will be swamped with applicants that the vacancy is being advertised for just one day – April 1, 2018 – with a closing deadline on 12 noon PST. Full details on the SpaceX web site at http://www.spacex.com/Red-Planet-Lawyer
