UK top 150 law firm Edwin Coe has selected Aderant Expert in place of its long-term legacy practice management system Thomson Reuters Elite Envision, which is no longer being updated by Elite.
The London law firm, which has just over 70 fee-earners of which almost half are partners, will use Aderant Expert as its matter management and financial reporting solution.
The firm identified mobility as a key factor in Aderant Expert’s selection, as well as the ability to analyse processes within the firm in order to allocate resource and service clients.
Tim Nash (pictured), Edwin Coe’s chief executive, said: “We felt that Aderant are an organisation with ambition to continue to enhance their product in the future. This fits very well with Edwin Coe’s ambitions to enhance its service to clients and grow the firm.”
Edwin Coe, a full commercial service firm that is particularly recognised for its high-end claimant employment work, has used Envision for over a decade but in December 2014, Elite announced the system will no longer be developed after this year and support will end in 2019.
Following a similar move to sunset Elite Enterprise, the focus is now on upgrading Elite’s clients to its flagship PMS 3E, opening up significant opportunity for Aderant, which in November secured Am Law 200 firm and Elite site Quarles & Brady as a client. A spokesperson for Elite said at that time: “It is important to note that we have signed up 10 firms to 3E in the last few months alone.”
