The deadline to pitch a SKILLS presentation is 4 November – here’s how

For years, knowledge management and innovation leaders of the largest global law firms have gathered annually in a privately organized meeting to compare notes on current developments in KM, innovation and business of law, also known as the Strategic Knowledge & Innovation Legal Leaders’ Summit, or SKILLS.

In a bid to encourage more UK participation, Nick Pryor – the global director of practice innovation at Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner – has joined the planning committee, meaning that a third of the committee are from the UK for the first time. Pryor joins Lucy Dillon, UK-based former chief knowledge officer at Reed Smith turned independent consultant. The remainder of the committee is made up of Oz Benamram (chief knowledge and innovation officer at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett); Ron Friedmann (senior director analyst at Gartner); Mary Abraham (principal at Above & Beyond KM); and Tanisha Little (director of knowledge management at Simpson Thacher.)

SKILLS is hands down the best virtual conference I have attended. The organisers recently added SKILLS Showcase  a mixture of rapid-fire virtual presentations and strategic discussions that highlight the latest developments in the legal sector. That’s followed by virtual networking drinks on Shindig (if you aren’t familiar with it, check it out).

If you have a story that is of interest to the community, complete your application to speak on https://skills.law/ by 4 November.

Quick fire demonstrations must be from vendors together with a law firm, so if you have worked on a successful project and want to shout about it, get in touch with the SKILLS team asap.

Benamram says: “People present at SKILLS for two reasons: To share their knowledge and to attract great people to work with them. If you have a story to share about trying something new in legal, we’d like to hear from you!”
