LexisNexis will double the donations made through donation management platform Benevity
In response to the ongoing Ukraine crisis, LexisNexis, the LexisNexis Rule of Law Foundation, and the Ukrainian National Bar Association have developed the Legal Aid Portal – Ukraine – a free online destination where Ukrainian lawyers can look for legal job opportunities, legal assistance, office space, housing opportunities, and many other kinds of aid for displaced individuals. Many of the job opportunities and all legal assistance discussions can be accessed remotely, enabling Ukrainian lawyers to receive help from their colleagues anywhere in the world.
The Legal Aid Portal provides:
• Job Assistance/Office Spaces: A list of job opportunities for lawyers in Ukraine who have lost their opportunity to practice law as a result of the war. Ukrainian law firms that have lost access to their offices can find one-click access to co-working companies that are offering flexible workspace to Ukrainian lawyers and businesses in need.
• Legal Assistance/Resources: A place for Ukrainian lawyers to request legal assistance from experts, non-profit organizations, and refugee councils around the world on a variety of challenging legal questions and urgent needs. Lawyers can also access a list of international bar associations to inquire about specific assistance needs in various European countries.
• Additional resources:
o Emotional Support — Ukrainian lawyers can find a list of organizations ready to provide mental health counselors and experts for any person directly affected by the crisis, serving people in any language they choose.
o Disabilities Assistance — A digital information portal and expert community to assist Ukrainians living with disabilities and chronic conditions.
o Housing — Ukrainian lawyers can connect with agencies in multiple countries that provide emergency accommodations and other humanitarian assistance for displaced people.
o Donations — The Ukrainian Bar Association has partnered with charitable donation management platform Benevity to collect cash donations to assist Ukrainian lawyers who have lost their homes, suffered injuries, have no source of income, or cannot buy food or medicines. LexisNexis is doubling all donations made through this platform.
