Legal tech startups: Uncover brings in Dutch partner Paul Sleurink as investor and advisor

Amsterdam-based legal tech startup Uncover today (24 January) announces that Paul Sleurink has joined  as advisor and investor. Sleurink is a partner at leading Dutch tax boutique LBD and before that was a partner at De Brauw Blackstone Westbroek, which counts Slaughter and May among its ‘best friends’ network.

Uncover is a female founded startup that builds AI-powered litigation support software for lawyers. The Uncover founding team of Caroline Korteweg and Ingrid van de Pol-Mensing brings together 15 years of legal experience at top Chambers & Company ranked firms such as Jones Day, Lemstra van der Korst, and De Brauw Blackstone Westbroek.

The announcement of Sleurink’s appointment comes after after six months of building their product and signing seven customers, including Ysquare, CORP.lawyers and the German law firm Gantenberg.

Van de Pol–Mensing said: “Paul is an exceptional adviser, and has been a trusted colleague and mentor to me for many years as I built my career as a lawyer. With his tremendous experience and international network, he is uniquely able to both advise and make valuable introductions. We are incredibly happy and grateful Paul has joined us on our journey.”

Uncover creates a searchable, automatically structured set of documents. Where lawyers used to spend hours and hours on building a timeline of events that is foundational to building their case, Uncovers’ AI automatically generates that timeline. The Uncover team is co-building its company with European AI B2B venture studio Slimmer AI.

“Ingrid and Caroline have been litigation lawyers for many years, and they know the legal industry very well. Based on that knowledge they have built a great solution that can truly add value to law firms all over the globe. It’s great to be involved in Uncover and I look forward to contributing to their international success”, said Sleurink.
