Podcast: Why lawyers aren’t hooked on tech (and how to fix that), with Hengeler Mueller and Della

In this podcast, I discuss Nir Eyal’s book ‘Hooked’ with Pierre Zickert, manager of Hengeler Mueller’s Legal Tech Centre, and Hugo Seymour, chief operating officer of UK-headquartered contract review provider Della, which has been acquired by Wolters Kluwer.

Hengeler Mueller is a leading independent German firm with a global ‘best friends’ network that includes Slaughter and May. Its Legal Tech Centre, which is centralised within the firm, provides AI-based solutions for review. It trials and rolls out new applications but is also comprised of fee-earning lawyers.

Zickert and Seymour discuss why building technology for lawyers is hard and how to make technology a habit. How do successful companies create products people can’t put down? Why do some products capture widespread attention while others flop?
