London-headquartered SaaS dispute resolution services provider Opus 2 has hired Litera’s former chief revenue officer Will Carter as its CRO, as the private equity-owned company continues to bolster its US-based C-suite. Carter, who is based in Chicago, was most recently chief revenue officer at HR technology company Atlas.
During his time at Litera, Carter oversaw a 2.5X increase in annual recurring revenue (ARR) as the business rapidly scaled. At Opus 2 he will be charged with leveraging his expertise to drive growth in the North American and global legal market and he will be responsible for leading the global client and sales teams.
His hire follows the arrival in December of chief executive officer Greg Blackman, who was previously at construction management software provider e-Builder (part of Trimble). Only just prior to that, Opus 2 hired Beau Wysong as senior vice president of global marketing. Both live in the US. Opus 2 is owned by private equity firm Astorg, which acquired a majority stake in 2021.
Blackman said of Carter: “His successful track record of driving business growth, combined with his experience in the legal technology landscape, makes him the perfect fit to lead our global revenue function.” He added: “Will’s strategic perspective and collaborative approach align with our company culture and will further strengthen our executive leadership team.”
Opus 2 says that it works with 100% of the top 50 international firms and 88 of the AmLaw 100. The hires are evidence of its commitment to expansion in the North American market.
