Build Legal Tech: Gaby Isturiz launches a go-to resource for the startup world

Legal technology entrepreneur and investor Gaby Isturiz has launched a practical guidance and expert-led newsletter for people in the startup world who are interested in scaling companies. Build Legal Tech aims to provide knowledge and tools around securing funding; accelerating your GTM strategy; scaling revenues; and achieving profitability and successful exits.

Isturiz co-founded eBilling Hub, which was acquired by Thomson Reuters, and also Bellefield Systems, which was acquired by Aderant. She has a fund, Fund XX, targeted at investing in early-stage women-led businesses across the United States.

Speaking to Legal IT Insider about the new resource, Isturiz said: “I’ve been doing this for 20 years and it’s hard. Only 5% of startups succeed. It’s about combining craft; discipline; pushing yourself out of your comfort zone; covering every skill from product sales to marketing and operations and HR; and knowing how to scale. I talk to founders who raise all this money but what got you to a $1.5m business is very different to what will get you to a $20m business. This newsletter will provide original and tactical content to help the next generation of builders.”

Isturiz says that she will still continue to invest but that she sees a need for thought leadership at this critical juncture for the legal tech sector. In a welcome note to Build Legal Tech, which is free to subscribe to, she says: “I believe there are a lot of people in the startup world who like to give advice but are not actually doing the real work. Additionally, many qualified individuals are too far removed from the trenches. I’m here, so you don’t have to navigate this learning curve alone. My goal is to remove some of the guesswork by sharing insights from those who have walked this path before and transformed their visions into thriving businesses.”

Build Legal Tech is designed for founders, investors, operators, aspiring entrepreneurs, and anyone who wants to learn more about starting a business in legal tech. Isturiz has teamed up with legal tech entrepreneurs and experts to provide advice and support and you can find out more here: https://www.buildlegaltech.com/
