Draftwise enters collaboration with Cohere to refine Gen AI retrieval accuracy

DraftWise, an AI-powered contract and negotiation platform for lawyers, today announced a new collaboration with enterprise AI company Cohere, which will improve lawyers’ ability to access relevant deal history.

As many have learned in their generative AI experiments over the past year, the information retrieval component in an AI application is often the weakest link. AI application providers need a strong AI agent model that understands context, and Cohere has been recognized for its excellent agent performance across high-value practical solutions. This will further refine retrieval accuracy, working with DraftWise’s proprietary models, to deliver high-quality results.

“The world’s highest-performing law firms rely on our platform to help their clients win and close billion-dollar deals, so accuracy and reliability are non-negotiable. Cohere helps ensure we continue to deliver the best possible experience,” said DraftWise co-founder and CEO, James Ding. “In our early work with the Cohere enterprise AI suite, specifically, leveraging their retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) capabilities, we’ve seen significant performance improvements. Cohere’s AI solutions are optimized for business-critical workflows and work seamlessly with our proprietary models and other components of our ecosystem.”

Cohere’s enterprise AI suite supports end-to-end RAG systems which have become a foundational building block for enterprises adopting large language models (LLMs) and customizing them with their proprietary data, as DraftWise has done. The companies are also exploring additional ways to work together, leveraging additional AI tools from Cohere.

“DraftWise is helping legal teams perform at their peak by leveraging Cohere’s secure enterprise-grade AI technology to provide lawyers seamless access to accurate and verifiable information like relevant deal history,” said Saurabh Baji, SVP of Engineering at Cohere. “Our generative and search AI models will enable the company to build impactful RAG systems that ensure it can unlock real value for law firms from its rich data stores.”
