Litera has reappointed Avaneesh Marwaha as chief executive officer, taking over from Sheryl Hoskins, who has been CEO since 2022. Over the past two years Marwaha has remained involved with Litera as chairman of the board.
During Hoskins tenure, Litera has continued its acquisition streak, buying BI vendor BigSquare, talent management software provider Micron Systems, CRM provider Upper Sigma, and information governance provider FileTrail. It has also launched highly acclaimed AI transaction management tool Foundation Dragon. However, it has seen challenges around the integration of acquired companies and seen new competition in the document drafting and review space.
We’re told that Marwaha will focus on optimizing legal workflows with enterprise-grade solutions, further integrating GenAI into Litera’s ecosystem, accelerating user adoption, and securing a foundation of innovation.
Hoskins said: “I’m proud of the achievements we’ve accomplished in the last two years at Litera, putting the company in a position to adapt to dynamic shifts in the legal tech market. Avaneesh’s decades of legal practice and legal tech experience give him the unique vision to lead Litera as we continue to invest, innovate, and integrate our ecosystem of intuitive, AI-driven products that will revolutionize the lawyer work experience.” Hoskins will continue to advise the Litera board through the end of 2024.
We’ll bring you more on this shortly.
