Xperate hires former Bech-Bruun CIO Stefan Winquist to spearhead European launch

Legal tech software developers Xperate have expanded into the European market with the hire of former Bech-Bruun CIO Stefan Winquist, who is based in Copenhagen, Denmark and will be CEO Europe.

Winquist has 26 years as CIO at Bech-Bruun, one of Denmark’s most prestigious law firms, where he has been instrumental in transforming legal operations through technology.

He said: “The potential for innovation and expansion in Northern Europe is vast, especially at a time when the demand to optimise workflows, develop bespoke Legal Tech solutions, and integrate comprehensive vertical products is at its peak. I eagerly anticipate leading our team to new heights and addressing the biggest challenges faced by my former colleagues. Together, we will deliver unparalleled solutions to our clients and establish new benchmarks in the legal tech landscape.”

Having already built a presence in the UK and India, followed by launches to North America and Australia during 2024, Xperate now has around 100 members of staff, built over a three-year period by former Tikit heads CEO Simon Hill and COO Mark Garnish.

Hill said: “Stefan and I have known each other for over 15 years and he fully embraces Xperate’s values and culture. His appointment as CEO Europe, based in Copenhagen, reflects our commitment to bringing Xperate’s expertise to law firms, legal tech providers and existing clients throughout the EU and globally.”
