The American Arbitration Association (AAA) and its international division, the International Centre for Dispute Resolution, have hired Maya Markovich as their new vice president, the organisations announced today (5 February).
Markovich joins from the Justice Technology Association, a nonprofit trade association for startups building technology solutions that contribute to a fairer, more accessible legal system. She will continue to lead JTA’s mission to support justice tech entrepreneurs, with support from the AAA as a new JTA strategic partner.
Over the past few years Markovich has also worked as an independent advisor to start ups and large law firms on product development and innovation, with a particular focus on AI. Before that, her roles include chief growth officer at Dentons’ Nextlaw Labs and Nextlaw Ventures. In 2023, she was part of the Fast Case 50, which honours legal industry visionaries, and she serves on the boards of advisors at Responsible AI in Legal Services, LawTechUK and Legal Aid of North Carolina’s Innovation Lab.
“I’m looking forward to diving in at AAA and continuing to lead JTA to increase impact in access to justice and conflict resolution across both organisations,” Markovich told Legal IT Insider.
