Jigsaw was founded in 2020 by former investment funds lawyer Stephen Scanlan and former magic circle lawyer-turned-banker Travis Leon. In this product demo for Legal IT Insider, Leon showed us the latest functionality of Jigsaw, which helps lawyers to visualise transactions and has also become a project management tool. More recently Jigsaw introduced GenAI into the product, with the launch of AI assistant Jigbot.
Leon and Legal IT Insider’s editor Caroline Hill discussed the problem that Jigsaw solves, including the ability to quickly map out corporate structures in a matter, which can otherwise take hours and be a very manual process.
We walk through how AI enhances the product and also Jigsaw’s tiered approach to adoption. For lawyers who are resistant to doing things differently, they can scribble notes on paper that is then photographed and converted into a diagram online. Those who are moderately tech forward can write straight onto their touch screen device with a stylus. And those that are perhaps more advanced can use their voice to describe what they want to see in diagram form. Adoption is not just an end goal, but a journey.
It is interesting to note that as legal tech vendors double down on their SaaS software offerings, they are also increasingly highlighting their people-led training and onboarding teams. Jigsaw is staffed by former lawyers and product experts and emphasises its personalised support.
