Deloitte Legal and Legora announce strategic relationship in the UK

Deloitte Legal and generative AI provider Legora have today (8 September) announced a strategic relationship in the UK, in which the Deloitte Legal team are using Legora for its own review, research and drafting tasks internally as well as helping in-house legal teams and law firms with their own adoption. This follows an announcement by Deloitte Sweden in May that its tax and legal teams are using Legora for everyday work and helping clients to implement Legora for their own needs and workflows.

Deloitte Legal said that it will develop pre-built solutions and custom workflows for specific use-cases on the platform and that these solutions will be made available as part of their offering to in-house legal departments and law firms who are using Legora. While we haven’t yet been able to interview Deloitte or Legora about the new UK partnership, in Sweden, the examples given were that Deloitte helps customers to navigate how Legora integrates with existing IT teams such as ERP systems and also how to ensure that implementation complies with legislation and client AI policies, for example. Deloitte, one of the ‘Big Four’, is a global network of independent firms spanning 150 countries.

In a statement Richard Punt, Deloitte Legal’s global and UK leader, said: “At Deloitte Legal, delivering business solutions to legal issues is at the heart of our approach. Our collaboration with Legora is an exciting development as we share a strategic vision for AI-driven transformation of legal services. Together, we will help our clients provide more insightful, efficient, and effective legal solutions and re-design how legal services are delivered, providing new value and better outcomes.” Punt joined Deloitte Legal in 2023 and leads its global network of almost 3,000 professionals operating in 75 jurisdictions. He was previously chief strategy officer at Thomson Reuters and before that CEO of Allen & Overy Peerpoint.

We look forward to bringing you more details of this collaboration.
