Lexsoft has its own legal knowledge solution T3, which in February this year announced an integration with Intapp Walls.
We asked Lexsoft Systems’ CEO Carlos Garcia-Egocheaga to tell us more.
Carlos, what’s the significance of this deal, particularly jurisdictionally?
Intapp is one of the top three legal tech vendors, and has been for years. Historically, Intapp has concentrated on the US and UK markets. However, recognising the business potential of continental Europe and LATAM, the company is strategically expanding into these jurisdictions. Specifically in the Spanish-speaking countries, local firms are rapidly growing, and many of the major international firms are opening offices in these regions to service both local and international corporates.
Law firms want the best legal tech products – the same as they use in other jurisdictions.
They have chosen us as their strategic implementation partner in their business expansion journey because of our strong presence and expertise in the Spanish-speaking jurisdictions.
What products will you be focusing on?
Lexsoft’s initial focus will be on Intapp’s CRM and Compliance product suite to include DealCloud, Intapp Conflicts, Intapp Intake, and Intapp Walls. However, the goal is to meet customers’ needs through choice, so if customers request other Intapp products, we will, of course, implement.
Who should care about this announcement?
Certainly, the Big Four firms, the Magic Circle ones, and most of the top 100 firms who already have interests in these regions. Some of these firms are either opening offices in Spanish-speaking countries, or using Swiss Verein/Swiss Association.
However, many of the firms who don’t have a local presence – be that through direct offices or Swiss Verein – sign Best Friends agreements with local firms in order to refer work to them. Note, we are talking about 20 Spanish-speaking countries! Regardless of the situation, all the firms must make sure that their local office/representative meets the expected standard of legal work, as well as information security.
Through this Lexsoft – Intapp partnership, these firms can finally propose that their partner firms and representatives adopt the same legal tech solutions for compliance, CRM, and potentially any other business function that they themselves use in the jurisdictions they have a direct presence in.
In Lexsoft, there is a partner who can implement the same Intapp solutions, do the training in the local language, and meet the local partners at their local premises. The local aspect is very important, as while the jurisdictions may be Spanish-speaking, the individual countries are different culturally. For example, Mexico and Colombia have very little in common, if any.
