Linklaters has appointed Greg Baker in the newly-created role of global head of practice innovation. Baker joined the magic circle law firm in July 2018 as lead innovation lawyer in the corporate team. His new role will see him lead the firm’s innovation agenda globally, and we’re told that he will oversee a growing team of innovation lawyers.
Baker, who was previously a senior associate in the capital markets team at White & Case, was brought in to work with Linklaters partners and lawyers to deploy new technology and design improved ways of working. He was involved in the launch of Linklaters’ verification platform Atticus.
As part of his new wider remit, he will now chair the firm’s innovation steering group, which consists of a group of partners and senior business leaders who provide strategic direction on the priorities and investments for the firm.
It comes as Linklaters grows its bank of innovation lawyers across several offices: the new hybrid breed work directly within practice areas, with the objective of assisting lawyers and clients to achieve better and more efficient processes.
