ILTA’s 2023-26 strategy review – The questions and how to get involved

The International Legal Technology Association’s president Ginevra Saylor announced during ILTACON Europe this month that the industry body is undertaking a strategy review for 2023-26 and encouraged members to get involved. We now have more details for you on how to do that.

ILTA, as most of you know, has a long history of serving the professionals who support the practice of law with technology. The strategic plan provides direction for ILTA’s future, and defines its overall goals.

ILTA is encouraging contributions from its members not only on its future direction, but what they get from ILTA. The latest strategy review asks what you see as key trends that will shape the future of legal technology, and how ILTA should respond. For members in the UK, ILTA wants to know how you see its US v UK offering and what more it can do to support members.

TJ Johnson, who is legal sector strategist at Qualitest and previously ran ILTA’s global portfolio of events, is helping to coordinate the UK response and you can contact her with your answers to the questions – listed in full below – on tj.johnson@qualitestgroup.com

The strategy review builds on the strategy for 2020 to 2023, where the theme MyILTA was first borne – the overall goal was to “provide individually tailored, timely and actionable content connections that will help participants to work better, solve their challenges, build their careers and grow their networks.” Some of the objectives have not been delivered thanks to the pandemic and the ILTA board will be reviewing what parts of the last strategy are continued into the next three years.

The questions below are the ones that Johnson is also using in discussion groups around the future of ILTA, please express if you would like to take part in a virtual meeting to discuss some of these topics.

Comment: It was great to have over 3,000 people together in Washington this year and ILTA has helped many of you to develop your careers, as well as creating excellent networking opportunities. The London conference this year, while good, was much smaller, and it would be great to ensure that going forward, ILTA is as relevant in the UK and Europe as it is in the United States. Make sure you take a few minutes to give your feedback here.
