The #GLH2019 semi-final winners

The non-profit Global Legal Hackathon, now in its second year, has announced the 12 teams that have been invited to New York City on May 4th to compete in the final round of #GLH2019 – the winners are all below and include entrants from Australia, China, Hong Kong, India, Italy, Poland, Romania and the USA, with two entrants apiece from Brazil and Germany.
The first round of #GLH2019 began over the weekend of February 22-24, when over 6,000 legal industry innovators formed hundreds of teams in 46 host cities spread across 24 countries. They worked through the weekend to develop innovative, new technology solutions to legal industry challenges. At the conclusion of the weekend, a panel of local legal industry leaders in each city served as judges to select the winners that would represent each city or country in the global semi-final round.
Pierson Grider, director of market development for Integra Ledger, which is the founder and organizer of the Global Legal Hackathon, commented, “We were really impressed with the quality of the teams and projects this year. In the first year of the GLH (2018), many people around the world weren’t even sure what a legal hackathon was. There was a learning curve. This year, it was obvious that more people knew what to expect and were able to take full advantage of the hackathon weekend to build amazing projects.”
After winning in their respective cities, each of the semi-finalist teams was encouraged to continue development their solution over the next several weeks, culminating in the submission of their project to a global panel of judges drawn from 13 countries, including Legal IT Insider editor Caroline Hill.
