Thursday 30th October 2025

ABOUT THE DAY

This October, Legal IT Insider will be celebrating three decades of global leadership in legal technology coverage. This milestone will be highlighted throughout 2025, culminating in an exclusive in-person event on October 30th 2025, marking our 30th anniversary!

The event will feature an invite-only inaugural series of TalkingTech LIVE Sessions, which will be led by legal tech experts in their field. This will be followed by a characteristically fun drinks reception at the same venue, where we’ll announce the winners of our 30 Years In Legal Tech competition, the details of which can be found further down this page.

TALKINGTECH LIVE SESSIONS

Session 1: Security and Risk in a GenAI World

This session will include a live demonstration of what your staff could face in the event of a cyber-attack in this generative AI era. We will discuss topics including the steps that firms of different size and stages of development are taking to remediate against it; whether accreditation is necessary; how insurers are responding; and the conversations law firms need to be having with their vendors.

Speakers – Maguelonne de Brugiere, Herbert Smith Freehills Kramer; Lee Killner, Howes Percival; Andrew Powell, Macfarlanes, Anthony Rokis, Thomson Reuters

Session 2: Data Management: All that is AI is not Gold

How clean does your data really need to be for AI to add value? This discussion will encompass the growing importance of curated knowledge and whether (and in what form) data is your firm’s most valuable asset. The panel will also have a frank conversation on the realities of AI tools and what is – and isn’t – working.

Speakers – Oliver Bethell, Travers Smith; Judy Mackenzie Stuart, Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner; Kerri Dearing, NetDocuments; Jeremy Morris, Clyde & Co

Session 3: Is DMS the future?

This Chatham House panel will discuss in depth what the future of legal content management is in this new era of technology, including leading breakout sessions and an interactive conversation with the audience.

Speakers: Kerry Angel, Harbottle & Lewis; Orlando Conetta, Pinsent Masons; Abby Ewen, Browne Jacobson; Rav Ubhi, Hogan Lovells; Tony McKenna, Howard Kennedy
