PwC and Clarilis announce new alliance

PwC UK and legal document automation vendor Clarilis have today (22 June) announced an alliance targeted at the complex drafting automation requirements of in-house counsel and law firms.

Under the agreement, PwC’s NewLaw team will introduce Clarilis’ mix of LegalTech and lawyer-led managed service to its network. The partnership comes after Clarilis took part in PwC’s Scale LegalTech programme in 2020 – the 10-week programme is designed to support fast growth scale ups.

Alan Angell, NewLaw director at PwC, said: “In-house legal departments are under increasing pressure as they face a rapidly changing market at the same time that resources are being squeezed. Our NewLaw team are helping them transform by looking to greater efficiencies and adding new value through the use of data.“

“Our alliance with Clarilis will support a continued drive towards digital transformation in the legal sector, helping businesses think through how to future-proof their strategy and connecting clients with the right expertise in legal.”

Clarilis CEO and co-founder James Quinn, added: “Our alliance with PwC UK will help drive adoption and growth in our sector overall. Working with PwC as part of the Scale programme in 2020 was a great experience. It allowed our team to consult with and get to know the exceptional NewLaw team. We are pleased to formalise our collaboration and to assist PwC clients to drive efficiencies through use of Clarilis.”
