DPS Software has announced its integration with Aderant to offer law firms a one-stop-shop for case and practice management after a project involving top 100 law firm Birketts.
The East Anglia law firm made its substantial investment in Aderant around two years ago and wanted a fully integrated case management system (CMS). It was using an early version of DPS and considered upgrading or replacing the software.
Birketts also wanted a CMS that integrates with iManage, which DPS achieved after working with Taylor Vinters earlier in the year.
This latest bi-lateral integration facilitates the automatic data entry in both Aderant’s and DPS’s systems, ensuring that these are kept updated without any human intervention.
The integration also allows DPS to search the Aderant database for clients and matters using various fields. All DPS searches now look at the Aderant data and automatically manage their case details in DPS, streamlining work processes and simplifying the work of both fee-earners and accounting staff.
Osman Ismail, DPS’s managing director said: ‘’We are pleased to acknowledge the completion of the integration work between our case management software and Aderant’s practice management solution. The benefit for the user is that all the clients and matters are stored in one place and data is not duplicated across the systems. This makes the management of cases and financial information far simpler and builds a more uniform data structure across the firm and its geographically dispersed offices.’’
Aderant was recently acquired from its private equity owners Madison Dearborn Partners by Roper Technologies.
According to an announcement on 8 October, Aderant will continue to operate unchanged in company name, brand, office locations and most importantly staff. Chris Giglio, Aderant’s chief executive said: “I am so pleased that Aderant will operate from a permanent home within Roper Technologies. A permanent home enables Aderant to undertake larger strategic initiatives and even more visionary product development. I am proud of the products and services Aderant delivers today, and I am excited about what Roper will enable us to deliver tomorrow.”
Industry comment put the acquisition price at $675 million.
